We've arrived safe and tired but excited!

After a grueling 20 hours en route to Delhi, we arrived on Thursday night at about 10:30pm (local time = CST + 10 1/2 hours). We cleared customs without any problem, got our baggage then headed out of the airport into a sea of waving signs with people's names on them. After going cross-eyed trying to nonchalantly try to read every sign, we found Mintu, our driver from Nameste India Tours.

I am never a calm and collected passenger in the best of situations so needless-to-say driving in Delhi caused some major panic. But Mintu got us to our hotel in one piece (after getting lost and stopping to ask directions). Hotel Sunrise is on a little side alley in an area of Delhi known as Karol Bagh. While we didn't see any cows last night there were certainly dozens of dogs roaming around.

Our room is clean and there is working AC! The people we've met have been warm and accomodating and we can't wait to get out today and explore this wonderful city.

Internet is spotty at the hotel, but I'll try to blog again later today.

  1. Great entry. I feel I am with you already. I know I am strange but I love to see dogs that are free. I am hoping for a report on cows soon.
